Oven
The most popular way to cook oats is on the stove top.
Simply add 1 part oats to a sauce pan with 2 parts liquid. This can be water or your choice of plant milk.
Heat up slowly, stirring regularly.
Wait for liquid to absorb and for oats to be soft. You may want to add more liquid as you go.
Add sweetener of choice for a creamy porridge.
Microwave
You can let oats soak overnight in your choice of plant milk, orange juice or water, making a delicious breakfast. We like to add frozen berries, banana and chia seeds to our overnight oats.
Rolled oats can also be used to make fresh Oat mylk.
Simply soak oats (and a little shredded coconut if you like) with a pinch of salt, in cold water (1: 6 ratio) overnight.
Sweeten to taste, with a little mapple or coconut nectar, and blend for 2-3 minutes.
Strain through a clean cloth, squeezing the oats, and refrigerate in an airtight container.
Oat mylk will stay fresh for several days, just shake if separated.
